When a student read the Chemicalization Warning in my Attract a Mate with EFT & LOA eCourse she emailed me, "Anisa - I have to tell you that I'm completed shocked and appalled at what I just read. You make it sound so frightening that I don't know if I even want to pursue intentional attraction!"
My response is that I'd change chemicalization if I could. However, until I figure out how NOT to go through chemicalization myself, the best I can do is figure out how to ride the current with greater ease.
In my experience, EFT combined with LOA can take a slow moving turtle of a desire and fast-track it into the winning horse of rapid materialization. However, there are times when this means going through the challenging process of chemicalization.
Chemicalization can be summed up in the phrase: Things sometimes have to get worse before they can get better.
This, of course, is simply a propagated belief and does not have to be your experience. However, there are times when what you say you want and what you are willing to do without prodding are two completely different things.
Likewise there will be times when our conscious beliefs and actions do not match our unconscious beliefs. This is known as cognitive dissonance and it's often a root cause of disruptive chemicalization.
Chemicalization is the process of transformation.
A werewolf endures the process of extreme transformation before it returns to human form.
Sand must be exposed to extreme heat to transform into molten glass.
A person might have to leave or be fired from their current job, if they are to obtain the new, fabulous job of their dreams.
Occasionally, a person might leave or lose their current relationship, if they are to create a different relationship, even if it's to be within the one they are presently engaged.
Did you ever see the movie, Regarding Henry, starring Harrison Ford and Annette Bening? Henry (Harrison's character) was a ruthless, philandering, unethical high-paid attorney who didn't even know his own daughter. Then, he was a bystander victim of an armed robbery; survived a gunshot wound only to awake with amnesia. Through the painful process of remembering who he was, he came out the other side as an upright, integritous, giving man, loving husband and caring father.
Bluntly stated - this is chemicalization:
"It seems as though everything begins to go wrong at once. This may be
disconcerting, but it is really a good sign. Suppose your whole world seems to rock on its foundation. Hold on steadily, and let it rock, and when the rocking is over, the picture will have reassembled itself into something much nearer to your heart's desire." - Emmet Fox, author of The Golden Key
With every change, no matter how great or how small, some degree of chemical transformation occurs.
It is our resistance to this change that causes our negative spiral. Imagine for a moment that your dreams and desires were creatively launched in good will. You've worked diligently, passionately, and joyously at maintaining a positive outlook; you've resounded an unwavering faith and embraced the essence of your being as indeed unlimited; you feel certain about your positive future and you've maintained your connection to source even though circumstances around you have been anything but peaceful.
And then, it happens.
Like the magnetic swirl of a black-hole, you find your entire world being sucked into an upside-down, inside-out funnel of crazy mishaps, boat-rocking events, communication breakdowns, energetic surges, and cognitive dissonance. You wonder, "what in the world is going on?!"
This is when we want to Stop Wondering and Start Creating!
Abraham (through Jerry and Esther Hicks) would say,
"Anyone can feel good under good conditions, but that's not really
practicing deliberate creation. That's just regurgitation. That's
just looking at a feather nest, and feeling glad that your nest is
feathered. It's not about creation. It's just about responding to the
conditions. It's just about offering a vibration in response to what you're seeing. But when you are able to offer a vibration that's different than what
you are seeing, by deliberately making yourself see something
different than what is most dominant before you, that's when you
become a deliberate creator, and that is the promise you made before
you came into the physical experience." - Abraham
There are several contributing factors to the chemicalization process.
First, when you put forth GREAT energy about what you want, expect change to happen. The more bold and vibrationally powerful your intentions, actions, and emotions the more likely you are to experience change.
It goes without saying that sometimes that change may be uncomfortable. Imagine the magnetar. (What? You don't watch the Discovery channel the way my honey does? Oay, here's the picture:)
"This object [magnetar], named SGR 1806-20, is one of only ten unusual neutron stars classified as magnetars, thousands of times more magnetic than ordinary neutron stars and billions of times more magnetic than the most powerful magnets built on Earth. .scientists calculated this star's magnetic field to be up to 10 times more powerful than previously thought -- with a force strong enough to slow a steel locomotive from as far away as the Moon. [However, ] "If this magnetar were as close as the Moon, it would rearrange the molecules in our bodies" -

We are like the magnetars! We are conscious creators and thus we are dealing with our own magnetic forces. It only makes sense that when we are super-charged and powerfully attractive, we will cause the magnetic field around us to swirl and create the changes we desire.
The second contributing factor, I liken to the black hole I mentioned earlier.
"A word of advice for cocky deep-space travelers: Dodging a black hole is now a little trickier than simply steering clear of the X-ray-hot star material pouring into the abyss. It seems that some black holes actually spin, much like whirlpools, dragging with them the fabric of space and all that dare to venture near." -

It's our own attachment and resistance that creates the magnetic whirlpool that sucks us into the pit of the black hole! When we fight the current, the strength that's required is sometimes simply anagalactic (beyond our personal galaxy of resources).
When you find yourself spinning out of control in the grips of your own magnetar and black-hole creations, stop wondering, stop fighting and proclaim, "This too shall pass" and "Peace Reigns Supreme, Now".
By choosing to relax into the rapids, instead of fighting the current, you may even find yourself enjoying the ride; laughing at the changes and eventually you'll land on the other side of the funnel. And, if you found a way to trust in the Divine Order, you'll now find you have MORE of what you want, not less!
