Been reading about self-image (quotes by Maxwell Maltz), a little bit of Dr Wayne Dyer (mostly a fan discussion board)....
So much of this manifesting stuff feels like hard "work" but for one thing...building your self-image and feeling good about yourself and life....which seems to lead to little miracles every day.
But I must admit, I was really starting to feel terrific this week and then my partner informed me about problems her business is facing (meaning our finances are a problem if this is not sorted out) and that seemed to dappen my good mood a little bit.
This seems to happen sometimes ... I start to feeling great and something my partner is going through deflates my balloon quite nicely.

Hello Nirakia~ I guess when we let others affect us...it is or choice! Life is all about choices. One day not too long a go I had a Store Manager file a complaint against me. Why? Because she thought I was ignoring her! HELLLLLO! She sat in the same room with me for 10 minutes..I had no idea she was the store manager. All she had to do was say...Hello, I am April the Store Manager. But do you think she did that? No....she did not. Then she filed the complaint. When my DM called me and asked me about April...I said 'Who is April?' Then she told me who she was and I remembered a woman sitting at the computer that fit her description...I thought she was a sales associate. Soooooo....the moral of the story is....she obviously has some issues....and guess what ...they are NOT mine! So I did not give her or the situation any power. By the way...I was in that store this last week and I walked up to her and introduced myself. She was not very pleasant! After that one of the gals I have worked on projects with in that store pulled me to the side. She told me that after I had left the last time (when she filed the complaint) she chewed out the Assitant Manager (who was very helpful to me that day) and made him CLEAN TOILETS! Again....these are her issues and I do not own them! I sent the whole situation love and light...let it go..and I continue to live my happy little way of life!
Your situation is a little different...but when we are feeling good....it is our choice if we let others bring us down! The other thing I have learned is......we can always blame others for our discomforts....but again...it is our choice to be happy or be miserable! I choose to be happy....and I know you do too...Nirakia!

I agree with you that how we feel is ultimately a choice.
I was just wondering if this could be related to a phenomenon that Dr John F Demartini mentioned in one his books: the Law of Equilibrium, or balance. One partner feels "too" great/high and then that is balanced by the other partner bringing you down a bit.
"To date, physicists state that EVERYTHING thus discovered includes BOTH polarities. No polarity ever exists without its opposite. As with the magnet, these two polarities are always found to be INSEPARABLE. " Example: "Infatuations are nothing more than imbalanced perceptions of more positives/goods than negatives/bads. Conversely, resentments are nothing more than lopsided perceptions of more negatives/bads than positives/goods."

Balance is definitely a huge factor in our daily lives. I agree with Dimartini's statement. When we are in balance with our surroundings , we are in the Universal flow. Creating balance in ones life ...again is a choice. We choose how to bring that balance and how to keep that balance in check. Sometimes it is not easy..so to speak, but I find the biggest balancing act is to balance head with heart! When we are able to balance our inner self...our outer world reflects it. I know that studying some of the greatest Zen masters, they achieve a state of awareness, that no matter what is going on in their outer world their inner world is one of peace...and free of suffering. This is not a case of denial..it is the Zen way and there is much to be said about it. Not to change the subject....but I gravitate towards the Eastern teachings because they are not fear based. Again this is my choice!
The Law of balance is a Universal law. As with each of them .....they all work together. Also...there is a great story Eckhart Tolle tells about a Zen master of a small village. He is caught up in the middle of a huge drama. He is accused of getting a youg girl in the village pregnant (which of course he did not). However everytime he was confronted...he did not agree or disagree. His answer always was...'Is that so?' He chose not to be part of the drama, not to be a victim. He new his own truth and stayed in his truth. Even though the people in the village lost all respect for him...he stood steadfast in his truth. When it all blew over and the truth finally did come out......guess what his final words were.....'Is that so'
I just love that story!
Sending you love and light!
