A complaint Free World
« on: June 08, 2007, 03:35:30 AM »

I just finished reading The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene Gaines.  (Quite an enjoyable book by the way, especially since I listened to a workshop of hers on the internet and know what she sounds like now).

In the book she challenged readers to go 21 days without uttering anything negative like complaining, criticising, gossip, bitching, etc.

I'm going to try it 10 days at a time  Grin

Just this morning I was impatient with a driver who pulled in infront of me and drove very slowly, but then we stopped at the same fuel station and I saw he was having car trouble. *Heeheehee*  I had to laugh because I KNOW that we can't judge why a person is doing something but I still became impatient with Mr Slow Go.... especially since he kept looking in the mirror and patting his hair.  Meanwhile, he COULDN'T go faster because he had car trouble.

Hiya

Oh, the process didn't go at all!  I kept forgetting. *snort*

I think it's against our natural tendencies not to complain.  We can question judgements we make, but we still make them!

I did the challenge as well.......while to say I did not complain about anything..I would be fibbing....however....it helped my be  'aware' of my complaints , so when I caught myself complaining......I nipped it in the bud! Wink

Thats the way to go about it, I guess..one hour at a time?
and I just had an idea....if I notice I just complained about something, I could follow it by feeling appreciation for three things, as a way to cancel or uplift that complaining vibe..this would surely help an old pattern to dissolve and a new one to grow or get stronger instead
