New here, Hi!
« on: July 14, 2007, 12:46:40 AM »

Hello All, Smiley
I'm new to your forum. Just seeking like minded, positive people. I've recentley discovered LOA through the Secret movie, and other literature. Right now I'm reading a book called Creative Visualization and I love the exercises in it. I also like books on developing my intuition etc. I found that most books I read mention LOA, even if not by that name, such as Norman V Peal's The Power of Positive Thinking. Anyway, it is my goal to mention only positives and to totally focus on what I am manifesting in my life and hope to meet and chat with forum members and guests. I'm in the Rockford, IL area. If anyone knows of a group or wants to get together to chat LOA, just let me know. Much Blessings to You All! Roll Eyes Kiss

Hello Angelica,
Glad you found us here .
While waiting for someone yesterday, i picked up Shakti Gawain's creative visualizations and opened it at random,It happened to be the chapter on healing  ! she feels that it is possible to heal oneself as well as others by visualizing them healthy .
How wonderful is that !!!

Hi there and welcome!

Must say I also believe in being positive, speaking positive...but I also believe there has to be balance.

Why do you say "but  there has to be balance" ?

Be positive because you really KNOW that all is going to be okay.  Don't be positive as a "blind faith" thing because then when something not so positive happens, you either ignore it or feel crushed.  But when you know that sometimes appearances are not positive, but to keep believing things are as they should be and will turn out allright you have solid "faith"

I do believe there is a dual side to things which may not mesh so nicely with the law of attraction/abraham type of theories.  I have a couple of books by Dr John F Demartini which says for example your emotions need to be balanced.  Don't think of someone as alll good (infatuation) or all bad (resentment) because then you are out of balance, and not seeing reality.

Ok , then how about saying : be positive AND keep the balance ...
BUT is such a dividing and cancelling word...

I think I did that on purpose (subconsciously - if that makes sense!) because a part of me believes that people who are "chipper  Grin chipper Grin chipper Grin " (and I'm not saying our new poster is!!) are avoiding reality.  My issue coming out here, sorry.

It's like going to a Buffet table and spending time loathing some of the food, instead of focusing on the food you love.
What you end up having on your plate is the result of your choosing . Everybody else's plate will be different...
"Reality" is what you give attention to.
'Out there'  is everything - your own unique "Reality" is where your focus is.

I do agree with you (mostly  Wink )

When the new poster said: "it is my goal to mention ONLY [*my emphasis, not the poster's] positives" it triggered my issue of people stating something in the excitement of "the moment"..

For example: recently someone came to our church and said: "Great church.  I'm going to be here EVERY Sunday from now on."  What happened? He hasn't been back since.

I guess I have an issue with incongruent statements...integrity...saying something because you really mean it and not because you are in an excited state.

And Angelica1029, this has nothing to do with you or what you said so please don't take notice of me!  I've just uncovered one of my own issues.

Hi All!

I am a CHIPPER CHIPPER  person for the most part.  I have learned that being happy is a blissful state. Not that I don't get angry or even negative.  However, I have come to a point when this happens I am able to look at the emotion and then let it go and move back into my chipper self.  Balance is a part of our existance.  But it is okay to be happy more than often.  It is okay to say positive things and be positive most of the time.   I know that when I am around a perpetual negative being it drains me.  When I am around positive thinkers and attitudes it bolts my energy.  I would much rather be at the higher vibration.  In return I can share that with those around me..it is very contagious!

A joy shared is a joy doubled!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I agree with you all! It's good to be positive as well as have balance. We know what we want (positive!) by contrasting it to what we know we don't want (negative), we must know both just to make the choice. I also beleive in following your gut instinct! It feels good to trust your soul. By nature, I am not "chipper", I prefer to be in a more calm state of inner happiness that has it's outbursts at funny, silly, touching, happy moments, although I do find myself smiling at seemingly nothing a lot more Cheesy Anyway, thank you all for voicing your true selves! Please keep in touch!
