Hi,
We found our dream house on Sept. 24. God really worked miracles for us with the down payment and an arrangement for a lease purchase so we can purchase it in spite of less than stellar credit. So many things worked out for us that it seemed almost too easy. Then, however, the financial aspects "dried up". We have an amazingly patient realtor who keeps holding off but even he is finally becoming impatient. We have to have the rest of our down payment by Nov. 30 or lose the contract.
Here's my question:
We've confessed, believed, visualized, rain danced (praying no one thinks we're insane if they see us) all around the house, and given thanks daily for our beautiful just-right-for-us house and land.
Still the money hasn't come in for it. Jobs we expected fell through, funds we counted on did not materialize.
THEN another house (smaller, in a very uncomfortable-for-me neighborhood) came about, offered to us on excellent terms that we can afford, with absolutely painless financing.
Here's our problem:
We want our dream house, the one that suits our needs. All three of our children embrace this house. We know it is right for us but it is getting down to the wire on the deadline.
The other house is okay in its own right, but it is in a neighborhood that literally fills me with fear and dread every time I drive by (lots of drug activity reportedly there).
How do you know when closed doors and open doors matter?

Thanks!
