Wearing jewelry/glasses during tapping?
« on: January 25, 2007, 05:49:51 PM »

I've heard various opinions on this, but no definitive answer.  So, is it okay to wear jewelry while tapping or does it disturb the energy flow?  What about glasses?  I've tried tapping without my glasses, but I have to hold the card with my tapping phrase on it about an inch from my face.  Smiley

Of course, then I get into the whole thing of "it only affects your tapping effectiveness if you believe it affects it" which just adds to the situation.  LOL!

Any thoughts?

i would take off chunky bracelets and necklaces because i do believe ,  also from Reiki experience , that metal can interfere.
As for the glasses , they must come off at least for when you tap around the eye .
How difficult is it to memorise : even though i have ............ i love myself deeply and profoundly ?
Does one  need to believe in EFT? i think it helps but is not necessary . You can fake it and still make it ,the most important thing is to set the intention for it to work and the acceptance that it is ok to shift.

I was thinking mainly of the rather long phrases.  Maybe I'm just memorizing challenged.

And, I meant that my thinking about whether jewelry and/or glasses affects the energy is what actually makes it affect it.  If I believe that it doesn't matter if I'm wearing jewelry/glasses, then it won't affect the energy.

Perhaps I'm not expressing myself well, or I'm addressing the issue with the wrong group.  I apologize if I've offended anyone with my naive comments.

Dear Inside,
Now you tapped into my insecurities...
Did i assume wrongly that you meant EFT?.. .is yours a technique that requires longer phrases?..
Please don't disappear !

Inside,
I agree with one of the other posts the less jewelry etc banging around, the better.  Not so much as bothering or effecting the energy flow, just the distraction.  As llong as the meridian points are being tapped there should be no concern.  I do wear glasses, but not during going through the EFT points and tapping, as I have found it best to let the phrases come to me, who else knows more on what to tap on than the inner me and I would suggest this to anybody, you probably don't want to let this be decided by Mr. Ego.  Which will affect your phrasing I am sure.
But to get to your looong phrasing, what I have done, when phrasing I thought neccesary, that was longer than I could remember.  I simply used an old tape recorder and recorded as such "Inside eyebrow  Then in chunks record phrase leaving room for you to repeat, then the nest chunk, " break down the phrase into chunks so you don't get confused then record " Outside Eye then the same in chunks as giving you room to repeat" do this till you are through all the points.
But once you have deeply planted in your mind what you are trying to accomplis just try letting the words and phrases flow off the top of your mind, whatever comes out, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Have fun with it,

Thanks everyone for your responses and tips!  They are much appreciated!

I saw this in one of Gary Craig's messages and wrote it down.  It's proven very helpful, if a little tedious:

Write down every event, conversation, memory, judgment, observation, or experience from your past or present
that in any point in your life caused you pain or any negative emotion.

Do 5 full rounds of tapping for most things and 10 full rounds for painful things.
