Semi-manifestation?
« on: February 05, 2007, 09:41:14 AM »

Just spent the last three months working to manifest a new apartment in a town with a severe housing shortage--and I DID--BUT--the apartment is not anything like I vizualized.  It's affordable, and on paper sounds great.  I got "selected" from a lot of other applicants for this space, and I should be thrilled.  Every day I vizualized being thrilled and joyous in my new place, dancing with joy, but when I actually saw the apartment (we had to go through a three stage selection process before getting a look), there was no joy, only disappointment and a great feeling of sadness and a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.  Instead of the new, modern construction I wanted, this is an old, old rehabed unit, very very small,  somewhat shabby, almost no closet space, no room for a new sofa or even the  furniture I have.  I'll have to get rid of things I don't want to loose.  And it will cost me a lot more, because I have to pay separately for the artist studio and for the laundry facility.

I've done eft on the disappointment, but my heart is still heavy, and I find myself crying rather than being happy and thankful about it.   My friends are all excited  for me, and would be appalled if I  didn't take it. This is supposed to be the best deal in town, and I can't turn it down if I want to stay here.   My current landlady gave me notice to quit back in November, so I need to do something before she starts eviction proceedings.

I don't understand how there can be such a  huge discrepencey between what I asked for and vizualized and the reality of this space.  I told the manager "I'll make it work", but I'm sick of "making it work"--I wanted a BETTER place, and this sure doesn't look like it.  I feel guilty for not being more thankful for something most people here would love.  Any suggestions?  Comments?

I'm sorry you're disappointed with your new apartment.  You have to stay positive about this.  I know that it sounds impossible and it's so frustrating to even hear it when you've done so much work already and it seems like its just not working.  But, think of this as a stepping stone.  Maybe the universe needs to put you up in this place for a little while until your brand new awesome apartment building is built.  Maybe you're destined to be the first tenant in a brand new, freshly built apartment that is just now only a blueprint.  So, the universe is stepping you up to something closer to your dream, and then in six months or a year or whenver, the new building will be completed and you'll be able to move there.  Or, maybe you'll move to another city and you'll discover your dream apartment there.  Through some set of circumstances that is currently unknown to you, you're actually on your way to your new fabulous apartment, but you just can't see it yet.

I know that all sounds like a bunch of bull and it doesn't help RIGHT NOW, but I hope it gives some small bit of comfort and hope.

Try tapping on "Even though this is supposed to be the best deal in town, I still don't love my new apartment", etc.

Hello,Starheart,
I agree with the answer you were given
Try to reach for a thought that feels slightly better then how you feel  about your apartment now...and inch your way up the emotional ladder.

InsideChange, you have a good point.  Being accepted for this apartment is actually an honor.  In a town full of artists, one of the main reason I was selected was because they really like my art work.  And they like me.  It validates that I belong in this community.  And the owners do have other places, most of them new and shiny.  After seeing what a friend who lives in another of their units has, I actually used her apartment in my vizualization.   That is my dream apartment, but there are no openings there.  This one is only available because the last tenant died.  So my head knows this may just be a "foot in the door" when another unit comes available.   But the discrepancy between the two units is sooo huge.  And I'm 61 now, and tired of moving and the major disruption it causes in my life.  This was supposed to be my last move, and I really believed it would be to a much better place. In reality, this apartment is half the size of the one I'm currently in, and I don't even know how I will fit in it.  I'm not asking for a palace, just closets and a modern kitchen with a sink big enough for a dinner plate, floors without broken boards, etc.  Maybe I will have to move to another state to get that.  Guess all I can do right now is go ahead with the move and step up my prayers, affirmations, and vizualizations.  My head knows this, my heart is what's broken.

Good Job starheart! You are an artist, I bet if any one can transform a space it would be you! Since you will have to down size to fit in your new space when the apartment you want becomes available it will be a much smoother transition. I am so sure that the universe has a really good reason for providing you with this opportunity to simplify and create. You say you really believed that this would be a much better place - who knows maybe this is where you get wildly wealthy and can afford to live where ever your heart desires. Maybe you had a much deeper request and this apartment is what had to happen to nudge you where you need to be to get there. Maybe another town or another state or another country! Be open and expect miracles!!!

I think Bob Proctor's quote of the day is especially appropriate here, so I thought I'd share it:

"Sometimes the Universe doesn't give us exactly what we want when we want it, because there's actually something better down the road."

What is the worst thing that could happen if you say NO to this offer?

Greetings Starheart......Dolphindream here!  I totaly understand your frustration...when we get something in our head it is hard to accept anything less!  But heres the thing.   Sometimes for whatever reason- we are given what is really  serving  our highest good.  If you were able to find a place in an area that has a housing issue...you have been given a huge gift. You have all ready brought to fruition a huge reality!   I truly believe that this is happening to keep you in this area until something bigger and better appears.......the perfect apartment that you have visualized.  I feel very strongly about this.   I also believe that how you accept this gift is how you will eventually be led to the place of your hearts desire.

So if you accept this place with love and gratitude, you are opening up a whole new level of manifesting.  You are opening yourself up to unlimited possibilities.  We seem to always try to tell the Universe how things should be instead of going with the flow of how they are manifesting.   Make a lsit of all of the positive things that you are receiving here.....I bet there are more blessings that you are not seeing from this point of frustration.  Your "advantage point " lies in counting these blessings.

Sending you love and light Cheesy

... and don't forget, Starheart that the fact that you came to this site is no coincidence, it's all part of the great plan to put you on the right path. Even this is a part of manifesting Smiley

You are all absolutely right!  I did more eft on the feelings of saddness and disappointment, then went to the new place and took measurements, came home and measured my furniture, and it will all fit except maybe the coffee table.  Amazing--it seemed to have grown in the interim Grin.  And I identified a couple of things, simple to fix, which will transform the whole place.  (Ugly green paint on woodwork and kitchen has to go, along with the foul refrigerator!)  Working with eft, I uncovered some deeper issues that were coloring my perceptions, (like attachment to my current place, and old history stuff) and, voila--they seem to have vanished too.  No more tears now, just eagerly awaiting a move in date, and packing boxes.  Now I can actually see myself living in this space

Recently, it has been said that in ten years, only millionaires will live in Provincetown.  I immediately translated that to mean if I can stick it out, in ten years I will be a millionaire too!!  I've been studying manifestation for probably thirty years, but I really love the way Anissa puts it all together.  The first thing I did when I got my "eviction" notice was to get a private session with her.  You're so right Almathea, no coincidence!
