What if nothing is working?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this board and have been reading through the posts. Boy could I relate to: What if nothing is Working?

I've been reading self-help, positive thinking, inspirational and spiritual books for a very long time. I have seen LOA work in my life, sometimes when I didn't know that's what I was doing.

For a while now, things have been very difficult in my life.  And I've been angry, frustrated and most of all very scared. I'm in pretty dire straits right now.  And it's sooooooooooo hard not to be impatient and to hang on to my beliefs. I KNOW this works, but I have been doing what a few of you wrote about, ie; the negative cancelling out the positive and not being open to allow the very circumstances I wish to create into my life.

There's a quote I just love, " If this is how your life is going to be forever, is this good news"?  Well, the answer right now, is NO!!!!

Part of the problem is, no one I know believes in this, they think it's great to be positive and so on, but the rest is all woo woo. So, they tell me to come down to earth or I'm going to ruin my life, by living in this fantasy world. Have you ever tried to explain all this to someone who hasn't the slightest idea what you're talking about? I've told them all to read, What the Bleep do We Know. or Ask and It is Given[u],[/u][b][/b] and get back to me. Another book I really like The Dream Giver.(or anything by Julia Cameron or SARK)

Actually, for the most part I gave up. I'm still trying with my kids. (a son and a daughter, both grown)
And, I must say I made a lot of progress with them, especially my son. From the time they were toddlers I taught them to love themselves and to be positive. (they both turned out great. 

I'm so very happy I found this forum. I really really need the support right now, it's so vital.  All the posts are so inspiring and you all sound so caring. I'm glad to be here.

Even the most positive among us, have moments , days , or entire months of feeling this way... .
In EFT it is called reversed state , when one part of us insists on feeling negative while the rest of us wants to be positive  ...
Are you familiar with EFT? it might help.

Thanks, for your response.  I am somewhat familiar with EFT, I do receive the newsletter. I only just starting reading and learning about it.

I spent all morning reading my new Science of Mind magazine.  I absolutely love it!! If you haven't read it, get a copy.

I am using all the power within, to bring forth what I wish to create in my life. The reason I am having trouble being patient is, I need income yesterday and the day before that.    I am in serious trouble and unfortunately there is no one but me to take care of this.

I am on disability and it does not come close to supporting me. (due to illness, which is definitely getting better) I am working on starting an online business. (already paid for the site, etc. ) But, I can't relax, or concentrate because I'm worried about survival. (I lost everything I had worked for most of my adult life)

The other side of me is intending and intending and reading and meditating and trying to stay in the moment. (and doing things to find something part time and work on my business) Then that little voice creeps in and starts telling me, I'm not going to make it, I'm not talented, creative or going to make a success of this business or manifest income in the interium.

I even hesitate to write anything negative, I am so afraid I'll keep creating lack, if I write about it.

But, it was necessary in order to get the help I'm looking for. Which is, how to stay patient and keep the faith with all this stuff in my current reality.

I am calm today, I start everyday reading something inspirational/spiritual and writing in my journal. I then write and speak my intentions to the Universe and let go.

And work on keeping my inner critic at bay.  Of, late, I say outloud, "thank-you for your critique, now go away". It does seem to help. Then sometimes it screams, "yeah, well how are you going to pay this or that or buy food" 

So, there you have it. Thanks for reading and thanks for responding.

Welcome...and I see you have already been given so many wonderful and helpful suggestions. This place ROCKS! 

I do know how hard it is to bring your self out of negativity or egoic thinking....but it seems like you are really setting all that staright.
When we raise that feeling of joy and happiness...it is like a magnet that attracts more joy and happiness. 

I know this will sound a little different as far as advice but if you have not read "A Course In Miracles" ...I highly recommend it.  In fact you can google it and I believe you can actually get the course daily online free....it has been awhile since I did that...but I am sure it is still available.  In fact I need a brush up course!  We are always evolving as students and refresher courses are always a good thing!

In my heart I truly believe that the stronger our faith... miracles show up....look at it as a 'special delivery'.  It is that ultimate understanding that all of the great teachings and understandings are in all reality an 'inside job'.....I am pretty sure you know what I am talking about.  Keep meditating and just ask the Universe for a gift (you don't even need to be specific).....pay attention and watch for the smallest signs.....and know that something (big or small) will be delivered............because YOU deserve it!  Once you know what it is...it will just keep you asking for more and more you will get!  Be grateful for the smallest blessings and when ever you get the chance....pay it forward as well. 

Keep your chin up.....because no matter what...it will only get better!  That is a promise!   Also......I love Ronit's inquiry....what is it that makes your heart sing.......we would love to hear   Well?

According to Abraham , if one can hold a thought without contradicting it for as little as 17 seconds , LOA will stimulate another thought of similar vibration and   this will cause  a "combustion" which will lead to  physical manifestation.
(I would love to hear wrbones's explanation..)
It is not an easy thing to do , we constantly contradict our vibration when we say things like : "I want to have more money - because i don't know how to pay the bills" or : "I want to be in a relationship - but all the good ones are already taken " or : "I want to lose weight - because i  can't fit into my clothe".
If you imagine that the first part of the sentence radiate a pink glow and the second part , black .. the combination of pink and black is what LOA is receiving from you and therefore  that is what is beamed back .
Writing here about your talents and good business ideas , might cause you to be focused for at least 17 seconds on what you love and not on what you fear.

If I may add to your above posting (which was an excellent response ).  There are many practices we can do to 'stomp out' the negative stuff.  In regard to finances......when I pay my bills by check...I aways right above my name in the left hand corner...'Thank you God and angels'..seal the envelope with a kiss (may sound corny...but I do this!) and mail that envelope with full gratitude.  Then I go out and cut roses to make a beautiful bouquet or treat myself to something real nice.  I have found that doing little things like this really helps in keeping me at a higher vibration and remaining open to the gifts from the universe.  When we dread paying our bills we are sending out a message of dread.  So make it fun....be grateful that the money was there to pay that bill. Confirm your gratitude out loud or by taking action!  Always make it a positive and fun thing...it works.  You align yourself with the flow of Universal abundance!
