Why Go to Machu Picchu?
Take one grand step towards Spiritual Evolution while taking a journey to Machu Picchu, Peru. The process of growing spiritually is just that - a process. A decision to take this trip represents a deep, sincere commitment to this process; the inner journey of sacred living and spiritual immersion. We have innumerable examples of the masters taking a sabbatical in order to grow spiritually. For example, Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness kindled and cultivated His Divine connection as expressed in the unrivaled beatitudes of his Sermon on the Mount that followed. Muhammad, prophet to Allah and one of the three great world religions, Islam - spent years praying, meditating and fasting in a cave in the hills of Mecca as the Holy Koran (Quran) was revealed to him by the angel Gabriel. Joseph Smith, prophet and founder of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which now has over 4 million devout followers retreated from an early age to a sacred spot in the woods to hear the voice of his angel, Moroni. Other modern heroes such as Martin Luther King Jr., Mahutma Gahndi, Carl Jung, Edgar Cayce and so many others who have lead by example, witness to the fact that Spirit speaks softly, therefore introspection and devotional time is essential to perceive it's message. We as a society have forgotten the importance and even relevance of vision quests. The Native Americans know that anyone, no matter what age, sex or status can receive Divine vision-guidance from Tunkashila, the Great Spirit. By choosing to remove ourselves from outside influences and our habitual, rotary life we are gifting ourselves with the opportunity to receive this guidance and to focus on our spiritual substructure. We are granting ourselves the concentration necessary to delve into our spiritual enlightenment with greater direction, dedication and determination. The actual purpose of this journey will be revealed to each individual uniquely, however, as with anything done with commitment and focus - doors will be opened and lives will be changed. As one of the group instructors, my purpose and intent is to facilitate through energetic internal and external activities the personal experience of Spiritual Quickening for every participant. What is Spiritual Quickening? Every quickening is relative and appropriate for each individual. One person may see God, while another may awaken to the errors in their thinking, another may simply experience an expanded sense of awareness and still another may forgive someone that they have previously been unable to forgive. When one experiences a Spiritual Quickening - it is a gaining of momentum towards their ultimate life purpose of spiritual enlightenment. It is the acceleration of personal growth, the expansion of awareness and wisdom and the hastening of "At-one-ment" with the Divine Love, Peace, Prosperity, Joy, Harmony and Christ Consciousness of our Being - the essence of who we truly are. What will I learn while I'm there? Personal commitment, readiness, willingness and openness will dictate individual learning experiences. However, to be certain one will learn through the experiences of others and through the vibrational experience of Machu Picchu - the Sacred, Spiritual "Lost City of the Incas." For example, the trip includes the 33 km hike along the Inca trail, with heights up to 4200 meters. With or without the instructors, this accomplishment will symbolize a life milestone that will never be forgotten. Itinerary Day 4-7: We get up very early to begin our Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. We leave the hotel at 5:30 am and spend the next 4 days hiking and camping. We start our trek escorted by native "quechua" porters going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped mount Veronica . Walking on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient archaeological sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth we will visit Phuyupatamarca (city above clouds.) On the 3rd day, we will enjoy breakfast on the Inca Trail, then passing through Intipuncu (gates of the sun), we arrive at Machu Picchu, South America's best known and most spectacular archeological site. Known as "The Lost City of the Incas," this remarkably preserved city was never discovered by invading Spanish Conquistadors who destroyed most of what they did discover of the Incas. It's purpose is still not fully understood because the Incas left no written records, but one theory is that it was created and maintained by the Incas in an effort to stop the advance of time and it possibly served as a training center for Priestesses or Royal Princesses. It obviously was once a very important ceremonial center. In this place of sacred energy, there are reports of individuals experiencing such profound states of Joy and Enlightened consciousness that they claim to have had out-of-body experiences, near death (or near God) experiences and/or an undeniable personal/spiritual quantum leap. Now as if this opportunity weren't enough, add the value of a focused mind, a defined intention, an open heart, a group of supporting, loving, growth-conscious individuals and the experience transcends verbalized description and enters into the realm of "to experience is to understand, to understand is to experience." The experiential activities will co-mingle with our journey creating a symphony of spiritual opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Meditation, Mantras, The 5-Step Process to Creative Manifesting, the 14 Stages of Consciousness, The Power of Ecstatic Prayer and the Two Sacred tools for Spiritual evolution are only a sampling of our illuminating agenda. We are sure to come out of this inner and outer magical journey with the strength and clarity of purpose which is birthed from this type of adventure. There will be singles as well as couples joining us. We know it will be as if we were being "Breathed" by the breath of Spirit as we uncover our hidden potentials and sacred visions.
