Dear Law of Attraction friend!
We survived hurricane Ike and I have so much to be grateful
for.
At least 500 trees were ripped out of the ground by the
winds and tornadoes, many landing on homes and cars all
around me and at least a dozen or more power lines snapped
in my little neighborhood alone. My brother's dining room
was hit by a tree and most of the city is still without
electricity. With Galveston still retaining water,
thousands of homes destroyed and even more thousands of
people displaced, debris everywhere, and most gas/ grocery
stores closed, it's been awe-inspiring to watch strangers
and neighbors open up their homes and hearts to help one
another.
Monday, my electricity (not my power - I never lost that)
was restored. I'm entering my neighborhood at about 9 PM
and its pitch black. With every turn I make, the kids say,
"Mom, we don't have power! Look no one has any lights on!"
I just keep driving, KNOWING, that my home will be light and
bright. As I turn the corner, I see three homes - 3 - with
lights - mine was one of them! I just danced and said, "Oh
- I am so happy God loves me!!!"
The mob (literally) in front of my home was just staring in
absolute confusion - why do they have power? I just said,
"I'm so sorry yours is not restored yet. There's plenty of
room here; come on over. And, you're welcome to store your
food or do laundry here tomorrow. Let me know if there's
anything you need." I had a brief moment of 'survivor's
guilt' before remembering that we all have the power to
create miracles, it's just that some of us focus on the
'other side' of those miracles. I think today I'll take
some time to take hot cookies to my 'mob' and see if there's
anything they need, as they still are without their own
'power'.
In today's ezine, I do my best to share my perspective in
regards to the question: 'How do severe illness, disease and
birth defects, such as down syndrome, happen with the Law of
Attraction?" I share part of my story about how Parker and I
co-created a birth defect and how/why it was so Divinely
Perfect just the same.

about life's challenges.

How does the Law of Attraction work when it comes to severe illness, birth defects, and other really challenging experiences?
Hi Anisa!
I have something I wonder about according to LOA. I work
with psychotherapy applying EFT. I apply LOA it in my daily
life. And I sometimes explain LOA to my clients when they
benefit from it. But in some cases I get confused. I will
give you two examples:
A new client of mine has a little child with Down Syndrome.
When she was pregnant she was worried about Down syndrome.
There were children close by that had it. She didnīt do any
test during the pregnancy because the doctor said there was
a greater chance of miscarriage caused by the test than that
the child would have Down Syndrome. Another example is a
person that gets a serious illness. Some people worry about
getting sick, and then I guess you can manifest that, but
some people think that they are well and get a shock when
they see a doctor that tells them they have a severe
illness. Would like to hear your view on these examples,
because for me, examples like this make LOA confusing. I
read you e-mails and like them a lot. Thank you for the

Dearest Marija,
I believe we each need to form our own perspective regarding
the challenges that we experience. I am not so arrogant as
to suggest that I have a comfortable or even 'The' answer
but I can share my perspective. Please, use what works for
you and throw out the rest.
I believe the Law of Attraction is always (without
exception) consistent, impersonal, and steadfast. Thus,
without exception, each of the challenges that I face I have
attracted through my vibrational offering.
Yet, suggesting that a disease or birth defect, for example,
was something we created because we 'wanted' it
misrepresents the Universal Laws and the greater Truth that
we are all Spiritual Beings choosing to have specific
experiences for the fulfillment of a Higher Purpose.
Therefore, it is metaphysical malpractice to sit in critical
judgment of our lives. One time at a seminar, a woman in a
wheel chair indignantly said to me, "Are you saying that I
created being paralyzed? Why would I do such a thing?!"
She had every right to be angry with what I teach.
When a 'negative' experience manifests, for us to wrack our
brains (and our vibration for that matter) with "how did I
create this?" is painful, useless, and far more damaging
than the actual experience of the challenge. Anything that
we focus upon that causes us to feel even more disconnected
is garbage. As conscious creators, we must learn to throw
it out and choose thoughts that feel more connected.
On the other hand, there are some negative experiences in my
life that I have chosen to evaluate closely in order to
learn more about myself, how my mind works, how the LOA
works, what I might have done differently, and what I can do
different next time, etc. (All while forgiving myself for
any judgments I may hold.)
I've created plenty of challenges. And, without fail, if I
look closely, I can find the thoughts and belief patterns
that I held (and sometimes accidentally continue to hold)
that created them.
Remembering one of my more painful experiences, I now have
such a sense of gratitude and peace because I now know it
was all part of such a bigger, far more Divine Plan than I
could have ever seen through my small view of the world at
the time.
I remember the moment the doctors whisked my newborn,
Parker, away. With whispers that clamored so loudly that my
entire body ached knowing something was horribly wrong. I
was paralyzed by the straps that secured me for my emergency
c-section and the sense of helplessness and fear felt like
it was devouring my soul.
Finally, they said, "Parker has a cleft-lip" and allowed me
to see my beautiful baby boy with a gaping hole on his
perfect little face.
I was already beating myself up for having 'created' an
emergency c-section, a difficult pregnancy, and a failing
marriage. The unknown fear of what this would mean for my
baby boy was unbearable, especially when I added to my shock
the horrible guilt and shame I felt for 'having created his
birth defect.' "What kind of mother and person must I be to
have caused this" and other crazy, terribly immobilizing
abasement.
That was eleven short years ago. Parker is a perfectly
happy, beautiful child. And, he has been blessed with the
unequivocal gift of compassion. He has assured me through
his actions as well as many, many conversations that he
understands that part of the reason he chose this life, me
as his mom, and this experience was to more fully embrace
his higher calling: to make a profound difference in the
lives of others through his deep compassion and affection.
I know that what initially seemed like a negative creation
is exactly what was required to support his life's purpose.
Who am I to even remotely suggest that's not Divinely
Perfect?!?!?!?!?
As for me, my lessons have been vast. First, I have absolute
certainty that I co-created this challenge and I have
absolute certainty that it has changed my life for the
better.
I am acutely aware of how all of my thoughts are creative
and thus I am far more mindful and deliberate when it comes
to releasing my fears and doing whatever spiritual work is
necessary to restore my optimism and faith in any given
moment. I am vigilant about this and I will be forever
grateful for this shift.
Additionally, this experience caused me to take full
responsibility for my life and power. You see, I was
inconsistent and random with my response to my fears before.
I'd let them meander about eating at my LOA-confidence
because I was too caught up in the addiction (addiction to
negative emotions) to do anything about them.
Thus, when I was pregnant with Ashlyn, I commanded the
Universe to wield to my desires. When I was unable to find
a doctor that would support a natural, VBAC, I was
undeterred. When family, friends, and 'experts' said I was
crazy and they could have me 'committed' for putting my life
and my unborn child in danger, I was not disturbed. I
chose to CREATE instead. I programmed for an easy, 4 hour
home, water-birth and a healthy child. And, that's exactly
what I created. (Well okay. it was 4 hours and 15 minutes;
my midwife wasn't there at 4 hours, and that of course, was
not a match to my higher desire to have her present.)
I am very clear that my experience with Parker was
instrumental in supporting me in knowing how to harness the
Universal Laws and create powerfully and intentionally in
spite of contradictory reality.
I wouldn't trade my negative creations for anything. I am a
teacher and these experiences have given me valuable lessons
to share. I can stand before anyone, anywhere and hold to
my deep sense of certainty that ALL is WELL, ALL THE TIME.
even when we don't understand it, life is always in order.
Again, please find your own sense of congruency about life's
challenges. ANY thought that disconnects you from SOURCE
will feel negative and thus is an illusion. While focusing
on the thoughts that bring you back to source, peace, love,
and faith, align you with the Truth of your being - as an
unlimited, Divine Child of God. There is always a Divine
Order and by choosing to accept that the 'map is not the
territory' you'll garner a greater sense of Peace and thus
feel empowered to co-create more purposefully.
