We were born with the unlimited potential to intentionally create (use the law of attraction) to manifest all of our heart's desires. Together, as Conscious Leaders guided by the Divine, we have the Mind Power necessary to co-create a sustainable, harmonious, peaceful, and prosperous world. And, we can do this while also attracting and creating a passionate, loving, rich, healthy life with all of our personal dreams fulfilled.
Erghhhh… and Hurumph… Do you ever feel like you’ll never
get through all your personal development work? <Sigh>…
I understand. I had more work to do this week as I fell
mindlessly into an old pattern. I threw a temper tantrum
when I was mad at my honey. I won’t go into all the
embarrassing details but I will say I threw his untouched
pizza in the sink and turned on the water. All the while I
was saying to myself, “Don’t do it! Don’t do it!” I sat in
front of that sink speechless. I was so ashamed that I
could be so childish and vindictive, in spite of my
awareness that “we catch more flies with honey than
vinegar”, I was unable to stop myself!
Q's upset - when I drown his pizza
Fortunately, he has forgiven me and I’ve vowed to never
touch his food again when I’m upset.
Now, for those who want to email and scold me (I know some will), go ahead…
I forgive you, even if you can’t forgive me for being a teacher that is imperfect but real.
The point I’d like to share is that we never stop growing
and we never get finished. As Abraham, with Jerry and
Esther Hicks might say, “You can’t get it wrong and you’ll
never get it done!” That’s okay… we can laugh at our
progress as long as we are indeed progressing.
In today’s Quick Manifesting Morsel, I address this very
issue of “Never getting it done!” BUT how to get as much done as quick as possible, just the same…
Here’s the question -
“But… there’s so much history and so many negative events.
I can’t help thinking that there must be a way to release my
past and heal my limiting beliefs without having to go back
through every memory. I know others that live successful
lives and I can’t believe they all had to regurgitate all
their wounds to move forward. Is this really necessary?
And, if it is – I might as well give up before I begin
because there’s just too many.”
I hope you find your ‘core issues’ and create personal peace
too!
Love and light,

Q: "But… there’s so much history and so many negative events.
I can’t help thinking that there must be a way to release my
past and heal my limiting beliefs without having to go back
through every memory. I know others that live successful
lives and I can’t believe they all had to regurgitate all
their wounds to move forward. Is this really necessary?
And, if it is – I might as well give up before I begin
because there’s just too many." - Marie, L.A.
A:
No, you do not have to dredge up every past negative or
traumatic event in order to heal. However, let’s not kid
ourselves – there are times when we know our history is
holding us hostage. We know that there is something inside
that is causing our limited fulfillment. And, when we are
mindful enough to pay attention we sense the cryptic
whispers of our past: "Who do you think you are?" Or
"What’s wrong with you?" Or "I told you you’d never amount
to anything."
There are many pathways to wholeness. Some people, my
mother for example, find their purpose early (being a loving
mother is my mom’s purpose). Some have a natural ability to
simply forgive and flow. While my mom has had many negative
experiences that have told her she’s not good enough or
smart enough, she lives by the code of "Forgive and Love
first" and somehow this has afforded her a great deal of
happiness. For her, it’s not necessary to re-live and
process all of her life traumas in order to be fulfilled -
she already is. I believe it’s a choice she made a long,
long time ago.
However, I was not built like my mother; nor was my father.
My siblings and I have many ‘issues’ to deal with as a
result of our life experiences with him. And, of course
we’ve all experienced our own set of additional traumas and
tragedies.
For me, I have long sensed an inner mission and insatiable
compulsion to make a profound impact on this planet. As a
child, I had this recurring nightmare. I’d awake drenched
in cold sweats, shaking as I’d recall being a little girl in
a soft-blue dress standing at the top of a garbage heap;
greasy filth inching up my legs, spoiling my beautiful shoes
and dress. My perspective would shift and I’d see that I
was standing on top of our planet crying, exhausted with
hopelessness and overwhelm as I realized I was too small to
clean it all up. I was alone, helpless, and hopeless.
I now understand that I chose to be born at this time
because I wanted to make a different kind of contribution.
I understand that if I allow my limiting beliefs to
interfere with my purpose, I will be right – I’ll be too
small to make a difference. And, this fear of not being
enough has halted me on many occasions. I’ve missed more
than one express train to fulfillment because I was playing
too small and I was too insecure about my worth and value to
get on board.
If I could have chosen to ‘be enough’ then I would have.
But, I didn’t find that choice within until after I began to
process my life story, paying particular attention to all of
the emotional abuse perpetrated by my father. I won’t lie -
it wasn’t fun. One time, while at a seminar, I beat a chair
with a towel as we ‘Gestalted’ our way through the emotional
scale. I thought I would never stop crying. Now, I feel
very fortunate because I didn’t wait for the ‘magic potion’
to lift me into wholeness. I sought it with every ounce of
my being.
While the Gestalt session was a pivotal experience, I
discovered later that it was not the easiest way to release
my past. Of all the therapeutic techniques I’ve experienced
there are 3 "deconstruction’ tools and 4 "construction"
tools that I use almost daily: EFT, Surrogate EFT, & NLP
are my tools of choice for getting rid of my baggage
(deconstruction); Quantum Jumping, living visions,
coaching and meditation are my tools of choice for
intentional creation (construction). These are tools I use
personally to release my limiting beliefs and manifest my
dreams.
Take EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), for example. There
are other healing modalities and similar tapping techniques
that I could explore. But, EFT works for me. Thus, I don’t
feel compelled to continue hunting for more techniques. If
I have an upset or notice that I am playing ‘too small’, I
record it in my "PG ToDo" notebook. (PG stands for Personal
Growth and it’s a spiral notepad the size of my palm that I
keep with me at all times.) Then during my PG time (I
reserve time on my calendar and then commit to tapping as if
it were as important as breathing or eating), I open my PG
notebook, glance through and choose the item(s) that are
causing the greatest negative upset currently and tap it
out.
Initially, before my current ‘maintenance program’, I
recorded an inventory of every negative experience of my
life in a much larger notebook. I spent a couple of hours a
week for nearly 6 months tapping my way through the list.
Gary Craig, retired EFT founder, called this the "Personal
Peace" process because at the end of this effort you will
indeed experience a personal peace like never before. My
list was so long and just kept getting longer by the minute.
It was truly overwhelming to think that I would have to tap
on every ‘upset’ in my life! I ended up having 3 full
yellow notepads – one was for "prosperity/lack" limiting
beliefs/experiences, one was titled "love/relationship
limiting beliefs" and the third was "other". I thought I
would never get through it all. However, I was at that
proverbial fork in the road spiritually. I was either going
to DO WHAT MUST BE DONE or accept that I would forever be an
underachiever.
I was determined to break through my self-imposed barriers.
And I was banking on a little known fact about EFT – that
once you begin tapping on a particular "woundedness", even
though you may have 1000 memories and life experiences to
warrant that woundedness, you will not have to tap on each
memory (or event/feeling) to release it.
You may have to tap on a bunch but at some point the
structure of the wound begins to collapse. It’s unclear
whether or not that weakness in the limiting belief system
happens at 1%, 10%, or 60% of the memories. In fact, while
it can be a percentage that shifts the scales, there’s
another way to neutralize the negative vibration even faster
– find the "keystone" event that is holding it all together.
A keystone event can be described as the "linchpin" of a
limiting belief. It is usually a very early memory, such as
the very first traumatic experience that caused the limiting
decision. This keystone event is the source moment of the
core issue. It’s the cohesive foundation supporting the
limiting belief in the first place and thereby bolsters the
subsequent limiting decisions in place.
When we pull the linchpin of that first limiting decision,
everything shifts. Similar to shifting your home’s
foundation, everything shakes loose and eventually settles
back into place but never in quite the same way. I always
imagine that my limiting beliefs are lined up like dominos
and when I find that keystone memory and knock it down, I
watch in awe as all the ensuing dominos fall down, click,
click, click, click, one by one they wind and fall! It’s a
beautiful experience.
Here’s a simple process for finding your keystone events:
- Label 3 yellow notepads/ or sections in a spiral notebook:
o Prosperity/Lack
o Relationship/Love
o Other
- Leaving one small column to the left and one small column
to the right for future use, in the middle of the page,
create a bullet point list:
o For prosperity/lack: "When in my life, did I first feel
there was never enough money?" & "What does this feeling of
‘lack’ remind me of?"
o For Relationship/Love: "When did I first feel unworthy of
love?" & "What does this feeling of ‘undeserving of love’
remind me of?"
o Other: "When did I first feel ‘this limiting
belief/emotion’? & "What does this feeling of
________________ remind me of?"
- Edit/change the questions to match your feelings/core
issues. Hint: Our core-issues can be found by answering, "When I consider this ‘event’, what’s the worst thing this
could say about me?" The answer will always look like, "it
means I’m not capable/smart enough/good enough/ worthy of
love, etc." And, it’s the thought that we most hate, fight,
and rebel against. (The more you deny it, the more likely
it’s your core issue.)
- Now, schedule 3 to 60 minutes a day to just start working
your list.
- Select the bullet that is the earliest memory/event. In
the far left column, I like to add a box to the ones I want
to tap first; followed by a check-mark when I neutralize it.
In the far right column, rate your current SUDs (Subjective
Unit of Distress) level on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the
most painful).
- Apply EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). Check in again,
and if you’ve shifted, cross out the previous SUDS level and
note your current SUDS. Continue tapping until you hit ZERO
– even if it takes multiple sessions.
- Be mindful not to move to the next domino. If your mind
is now on the next event, note it and return to THIS event. "How do I feel about THIS event?" And, continue working
that ONE keystone event until you neutralize it (zero).
Then, move to the next memory, if it’s still there.
There’s more I’d like to share about the power of this
process… but I know I’ve gone on too long already. The
bottom line is we are what we think most. Eliminating those
past-inspired thoughts of unworthiness
will leave us whole, complete, and happy. From this place,
manifesting our dreams is effortless.
I look forward to hearing of your success! (Please post
your questions and comments – I’ll try to answer them in
future morsels.)
Q: “Hi Anisa, I have been noticing something very peculiar happening in my life. I seem to be manifesting circumstances, events, things, etc. that I *do not* expect, both positive and negative. If I expect something, then it never happens, but if I don’t expect it, as in not thinking about it or dismissing it as “oh, that will never happen” and kind of forgetting about it, most of the time it will happen. Right now, I am confused about the metaphysical books I have read because they have been teaching me the opposite of what is happening to me….it’s almost like I have my ‘own’ way of creating my reality, it seem to be backwards/reversed for me. I just began noticing this last year. Now, when I think back about the major events in my life (and events I wanted but never experienced) I see that this is exactly what has been happening to me all along. Have you ever hear of anything like this before? I swear….whenever I *expect* something, some object, some circumstance, whatever, chances are I usually do not get it, but the opposite happens when I *do not expect*. I’m puzzled and a little frightened of this because it has built up momentum, negative situations that I *never* thought possible is happening, and now I feel I must rearrange the way I look at my existence. I hope this makes sense to you, I know it sounds crazy. Thank you. – Patricia
A:
I can see why this would be terribly disturbing – to think perhaps that the way you create is completely opposite to how the Universe is set up for everyone else!
Do not despair! I believe that you too are operating under the same Universal Laws as everyone else. We simply need to reconsider the language we use when we interpret the Principles. I believe we have a slight misunderstanding about what the word “expectation” really means in the context of intentional creation.
Did you ever get in trouble as a kid because you thought a word meant one thing, but as it turned out it meant something different entirely?
As a teenager, I had a really bad argument with my mom once because I didn’t ‘open’ the shower curtain to let it dry. She had told me dozens of times, “please leave the shower curtain open.” Well I thought ‘opening’ it meant leaving it ‘wide open’ so the air could circulate inside the shower. But, she meant ‘opening’ it so that the shower curtain itself was stretched open. I would say, “I did too leave it open, I swear I did!” She would say, “You did not!” And, round and round we went until finally I marched into the shower and showed her what open meant to me. Finally, like an asteroid come to rest – we realized we were talking two different languages! We laughed hysterically at the absurdity of our clash after that.
There’s a difference between expectation with faith and allowance and expectation with attachment and desire. The latter is counter-creative, while the former supports rapid manifestation results.
Let’s do a bit of a perception check with the LOA material regarding ‘Expectation’.
“It is no use to desire a thing unless you expect to get it, either in part or in full. Desire without expectation is idle wishing or dreaming. You simply waste much valuable mental energy doing this.” – “Working with the Law” by Raymond Holliwell
- Raymond Holliwell’s instructions would indicate that intentional creation fails without expectation. Thus, we assume we must not only desire something but expect it to happen in order to activate the Law of Attraction. But, what kind of expectation is actually supportive?
“Most misery is born of failed expectations so let us learn to minimize expectations so that we will feel far less guilt and disappointment.” – Deepak Chopra
- Since we know that all negative emotions are counter-creative, we understand Deepak Chopra’s instructions as telling us the opposite of Mr. Holliwell; that we need to minimize expectations in order to minimize negative emotions. But, how can we have both the right kind of expectation AND minimal expectations?
“… faith is born of gratitude. The grateful mind continually expects good things, and expectation becomes faith. The reaction of gratitude upon one’s own mind produces faith; and every outgoing wave of grateful thanksgiving increases faith. He who has no feeling of gratitude cannot long retain a living faith; and without a living faith you cannot get rich by the creative method…” - The Science of Getting Rich: Chapter 7, Gratitude, by Wallace D. Wattles
- Wallace Wattles seems to be telling us that by being grateful AND expecting good things, we eventually turn our gratitude and expectation into a “living faith.” And, only through this faith can we ‘get rich’ by the ‘creative method’. Thus, expectation, once again is essential but it’s a faith-filled, grateful act of expecting – completely different than attached or entitled expectation. So, how do we cultivate this faithful, positively supportive expectation?
“No follower of this philosophy can reasonably expect to accumulate a fortune without experiencing “temporary defeat”. When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans and set sail once more toward your coveted goal. If you give up before your goal has been reached, you are a quitter.” – Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill [updated and revised version with author, Arthur Pell (2005)]
- Napoleon Hill and revisionist Arthur Pell seem to be telling us that we should expect both wealth and setbacks. Thus, we are to temper our enthusiasm with a healthy dose of reality and be prepared to accept the signs, adjust our plans, and be resilient. Does this mean that we must return to ‘reality thinking’ instead of ‘possibility thinking’?
“High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.” – Charles Kettering, (1876-1958) American inventor, 140 patents, including the electrical starting engine, leaded gasoline, and Freon.
- Mr. Kettering, innovator extraordinaire, is telling us the secret of success is high expectations. Thus, it’s not that we must be hyper-realistic to the point of lowering our expectations. But, how do we garner high expectations, while being fair and realistic, faithful and grateful and detached simultaneously?
“I am open to the guidance of synchronicity, and do not let expectations hinder my path.” – Dalai Lama
- My interpretation of the Dalai Lama’s words are that we should be open to the flow of intuition and guidance coming from synchronicities but not allow our expectations of what should be to interfere with our wellbeing, or our acceptance of what’s next on our path. Therefore, we are to continue to detach from the outcome and thereby release our expectations.
“Expectation indicates the juncture between where you are and where you want to be. Where you want to be, is your desire, and where you are, is your Set-point or habit of thought. And somewhere, in there, is what we would call expectation. Expectation, whether it is wanted or unwanted, is a powerful point of attraction.” – Abraham-Hicks
- Abraham, through Jerry and Ester Hicks, are telling us that expectation is the bridge between our current state of reality and what we want to experience. They are saying that expectation is a powerful, creative emotion to be employed and utilized in intentional creation.
“Your expectation is always what you believe. But the word expectation does imply more what you are wanting than what you are not wanting. It is a more positive word than it is a negative word, but of course, you could expect negatively and whatever you expect, you will get!” – Abraham-Hicks
- Here, Abraham, is saying your expectation is equal to what you believe. And, as conscious creation students we understand that no matter how much we ‘want’ something, it is our beliefs that will either attract or repel it.
“When hope is not pinned wriggling onto a shiny image or expectation, it sometimes floats forth and opens.” – Anne Lamott (best-selling author)
- This is probably my favorite quote of all. When we attach ourselves too firmly to an expectation, we are not allowing. The Law of Attraction is always operating under the auspices of the Law of Detachment, thus the phrase ‘It’ll happen when you least expect it” resonates so strongly. Refusing the “pin our hope down through expectation” enacts the law of allowing and detachment.
“In regards to expectation, we not only get what we put our attention upon but what we expect. However, most of us don’t really realize what we expect. We tend to dismiss our ‘expectations’ as mere observations when more often than not they are insidious ideas that prevent our dreams from manifesting with greater ease.” - Anisa Aven (Oh… that’s me – from a video I did on persistence and resilience.)
So let’s recap:
Desire (alone): Manifestation fuel= Poor
Certainly manifestations occur through desire alone. However, there are always more creative emotions lurking underneath, such as ‘courage’, ‘persistence’, ‘hard-work’, “a willingness to compromise” and even ‘anger’ can help a person manifest for where there’s desire, there’s direction.
Desire + hope: Manifestation fuel = Average
This state has potential but it is not the most optimal vibration. Hope is often too steeped in lack to be stable. On the other hand, when ‘hope’ is a noun, it’s entirely different. When we find hope after a long, dark tunnel – it’s incredibly uplifting and can help a person out of the darkness. But, when we use hope as a ‘verb’ and we are ‘hoping’ to have more money (someday) or hoping to get married (someday), then these are not optimal for efficient conscious creation.
Desire + expectation: Manifestation fuel = It Depends if it’s expectation/faith vs. expectation/fear or excessive expectation vs. faithful expectation.
This combination is only effective if we have expectation without attachment. If your expectation is filled with belief, faith, certainty and a knowingness that ‘it’s all good, no matter what’, then you are aligned with your goals. But, negative (or less optimal results) will occur when the expectation is coupled with an attachment. Attachment comes in many forms but here are a few examples:
o Entitlement: a self-absorbed sense that you don’t have to do anything; that the Universe/people/the world owes you something.
o Co-dependence: an underlying fear that if you do not get what you want then you cannot be happy/whole/fulfilled/etc.
o Proof: an underlying fear that you have to prove your worthiness and only if you manifest something a certain way or a specific thing, will you allow yourself to feel successful, special and/or worthy.
o Fear of Failure: if you can’t succeed at ‘manifesting’ then it’s just more evidence that you are a failure.
o Fear of Success, fear of deservingness, fear of not being good enough, fear of loss, fear of change, fear of loss of love, etc. etc.
The bottom-line is when you release your attachment while still expecting GOOD things, you are enacting faith and certainty, two essential ingredients for conscious creation success. Thus, it’s not expectation that’s the issue, but the other ingredients that allow you to detach and trust in the Universal Principles as constant and all-providing.
RT @AnisaAven Strike right balance betwn high expectations & law of allowing is required for optimal conscious creation http://bit.ly/d0lp8X
It’s important to understand that it’s not expectation that lets us down, but our attachment to the outcome that causes our expectations to disappoint us, and even prevent us from manifesting success. http://bit.ly/d0lp8X
Dear Anisa,
Last evening I watched Ann Curry visit one of the little
towns in Ohio where people are starving, children are ill
and dirty and have no food. The whole town seems to have
lost their livelihood and is ill-equipped by skill or
education to do much else. Jobs seem temporary when they do
come and even with the little income, the current economy
and abandonment to foreign resources leaves minimal options
for most. The town featured is not the only place where
poverty in the midst of surrounding luxury sharply
contrasts, but many of those featured were middle class
citizens with jobs and homes at one time.
I look at who I am, what I have, what I do on a daily basis
and I am so blessed. But I also feel a huge sense of guilt
and sadness….I cannot factor in the LOA and the ability to
create and how these concepts are not utilized…If we make
this work for us, why doesn’t it work for everyone? Is it
lack of awareness? I would like your thoughts on this as I
struggle. – Karen
A:
Thank you for your heartfelt sharing and question. I too am
finding myself more and more stirred by what’s happening
around the world and by something I can only describe as an
inner awakening. I sense that we are being called forth,
compelled by our connected sense of wholeness to do
something more, to fulfill a greater purpose and to co-
create a better, more conscious and harmonious world.
The challenges we face (sans excessive climate change) have
always been present. However, for the first time in
history, we are conscious of our creative powers and our
interconnectedness. The number of people awakening to a
world beyond survival, maintenance, selfish ideals and
materialism is reaching a critical mass – a tipping point
leaning in the direction of a conscious revolution and
intentional evolution. From my perspective, there’s a reason
why we are more acutely aware of the tragic conditions now
than we were previously – it’s part of the Divine Plan;
calling us forth to action and ultimately global
transformation.
I really want to make this point – so let me say it another
way. The fact that we are aware of those that are suffering
(in that small town in Ohio or anywhere else on the planet)
AND the fact that they are suffering are both active
partners in the Divine Plan to awaken us to our roles and
responsibilities as conscious creators born to co-create a
better world.
The message is not just coming from those of us who are
untouched by the financial crisis, for example, but also
from those that are in the middle of it. And, it’s not just
that the Universal Principles don’t work for them. It’s
that the Universal Laws are at work launching a higher
purpose!
The following excerpt from my article, “Why Bad Things
Happen to Good People” does not satisfy our need for a neat
and tidy explanation, but perhaps you too can find peace in
the consistency of the Universal Laws:
“….combining the principle of teleology with the many layers
of consciousness we find answers. I’m not suggesting the
answers are satisfactory or comforting, but they are at
least answers that are congruent with what we believe about
the Universal Laws of Creation. Consider, for example, the
evolutionary changes that, as far as I can tell, always
ensues chaos, destruction and tragedy. We can’t help but
wonder if somehow super-intentions along with the multiple
layers of consciousness were at work inspiring the end
result?
Viktor Frankl, considered one of the most profoundly
influential psychiatrists of our time wrote in his book,
Man’s Search for Meaning:
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men
who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away
their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number,
but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken
from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms–to
choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to
choose one’s own way.” (-Viktor Frankl, M.D., Ph.D., (March
26, 1905 – September 2, 1997) was an Austrian neurologist,
psychiatrist, and Holocaust survivor.)
Imagine for a moment that Victor Frankl’s story, listed as
one of the ten most influential books in America, had never
happened? Is it possible that the Divine Order (possibly his
soul-choice) inspired not only his Nazi concentration camp
experience but his survival as a match to his higher
calling; a match to a super-intention? If his life purpose
was to arouse the spiritual liberation of millions of souls
that found his work then who are we to say that what
occurred for him was not a match?”
I am one of the millions that have been transformed by his
story. And, although it’s really difficult to accept that
pain/suffering may be required to awaken, or to find
liberation, I find peace in the fact that there really is a
Divine Plan that we cannot see. And, yet… maybe as we
awaken to the call, we really do see it because we have an
important role to play?
Even the invention of the internet was called forth from our
collective desire, even before we were aware of it, to have
instant and immediate access to knowledge and our global
community. The internet is the out-picturing of what we, in
the conscious culture, might imagine the “Akashic records”
would look like, if we had to draw out the architectural
design, for example. We now have access to anyone, anywhere
on the planet at any time and instant access to any and all
forms of knowledge, history, innovations, movements, news,
etc.
We are so intimately connected with our brothers and sisters
around the globe, there’s now an endless supply of
opportunities for not only personal fulfillment and global
contribution but also the 24-7 removal of our ignorance and
obliviousness with the onslaught of ever-streaming bad news.
It’s gloriously and heinously at our fingertips at all
times.
Underneath it all, we’ve always known about the suffering.
Somewhere on our planet there has always been someone(s)
suffering through persecution, war, genocide, extreme
poverty, violence, starvation, hunger, lack, illness, and
all manners of emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual
anguish. But now, we are not only aware of the suffering
we are poised to make the decision between defeat by
darkness or intentional advancement by illumination.
Here’s the exciting part – We are the Change-makers. We are
the awakened. We are the ‘chosen’ ones – not because we’ve
been chosen, but because we have chosen to awaken. Many of
us, who have much to be grateful for, have utilized the
power of our minds for personal gain and fulfillment. We’ve
read the books, attended the seminars, and invested millions
of dollars on personal growth, self-development, and
spiritual enlightenment.
And, we absolutely get to be grateful and proud of our
accomplishments. It has been a necessary part of our
journey to create wealth, comfort, and full bellies. When
people stay in ‘survival’ mode, they are less capable of
creative activism. We HAD to accept our unlimitedness and
manifest the cars, and the comforts, in order to experience
the possibilities of expansiveness. There’s zero shame in
achieving prosperity, even while those around us suffer, so
long as we realize that at some point our prosperity will be
meaningless and burdensome unless we expand and grow into
the ‘Enlightened Species’ we were born to become. This
enlightened species will not only have personal fulfillment
and abundance but will join together in one collective
spirit to transform our world’s problems.
I’ve heard Barbara Marx Hubbard, world-renowned futurist and
evolutionary leader speak of the mass traumas and global
crises that face us as “evolutionary drivers.” These events
are not without purpose but instead are propelling us -
driving us towards becoming what she calls “Universal
Humans.”
We are the Universal Humans being awakened to our incredible
potential as evolved, conscious, congruent, compassionate,
intentional, innovative, and co-creative species destined to
create a new and better world.

I’ve had loads of success with the LOA, right down to
manifesting the kind of weather I want IMMEDIATELY, but
there’s something really close to my heart that I’ve been
‘working on’ for a long time, and I find that I get
stumped/discouraged/overwhelmed sometimes because, well,
this is bigger. I decided that I wanted this particular
thing to be really special and magical, but in order for it
to be truly wonderful, I had to put down all the important
details that would make it so. Here’s the stumper: I get
overwhelmed by having to visualize all those details. I have
about 50, and seeing them all just makes visualizing seem
more like work than fun. I know what I want very clearly
when I put it on paper, but seeing it all in my head is
overwhelming and feels too good to be true. Any suggestions
about how to approach “The List”? Thanks so much for your
time : )
A: Yes! I’m so excited about your question and thank you
for pushing the envelope on your conscious creation
experience!
First, I’m not convinced it’s the number of items on the
list that is the problem, as much as the attachment to
HAVING to HAVE it be EXACTLY as you WANT it. Overwhelm is
one of the vibrations associated with attachment and
resistance to the flow. When we feel negative, in this
case, overwhelm, it’s our inner guide telling us that we
either do not believe we deserve or can have this or we fear
that we are not capable of creating it. By directing your
inner will to release your attachment and surrender to
whatever is Divinely Ordered for right now, you realign with
possibility and faith.
Remember, as long as we are attached, overwhelm will remain,
no matter how short your list becomes. Thus, when you can
visualize without overwhelm (or any negative emotion),
that’s when you know you’ve released the negative energy
that is blocking it from manifesting.
I recommend a nice chat with the Universe/God:
“Big U – I know you have my back and are constantly
conspiring on my behalf. I am grateful for this. And, I am
open to receiving the entire picture – everything I desire
and all that my heart delights over, now. And, I am also
open to receiving whatever I am aligned with in this moment.
I release my attachment to having to have it all right now.
I release my attachment to having it all exactly as I think
it should be. I release my need to prove I am a powerful
creator by having it precisely as I imagine it. Now, I
won’t lie – I believe I’ve created a fantastic vision that
includes all that I desire, so if it manifests this way I
will be exuberant. However, I’m also really okay if it
doesn’t. I know that I receive exactly what’s right and
Divinely Ordered in this moment according to my highest
good. I also know that I have many inner most desires and
that you, Big U, are working to combine all of them into my
most magical fulfillment – only you can do this in such a
way as to give me everything I want, even those things I
cannot fully articulate just yet. I trust the Divine Order
and let it go. For this Truth and my total fulfillment, I
dance in celebration!”
Now, you may be thinking, “…she doesn’t get it. I know
down to the minutest detail what I want and how I want it.
I can’t just let all that go – in order for this to be truly
special I must manifest it exactly this way. Otherwise
what’s the point? I’ll just have to figure this one out by
myself.”
To this all I can say is, “I’ve been there and good
luck.” When you figure out how to manifest something
exactly, please send me postcards from the other side.
Forgive my feistiness today, but I’ve learned the hard way
that we don’t WANT to manifest something exactly. No matter
how much we believe we know about what we want, the Universe
always knows better. The harder we try to make it exactly
the way we want it, the more likely we are to ignore the
riches that do appear; the more likely we are to be
disappointed; the more likely we are to destroy other
aspects of our inner most desires in the process. Besides,
we are not creating in a vacuum – there’s a million other
desires that we’ve launched, a million other emotions that
are still out there marinating and coming forth into
physical form. If we had to identify ALL aspects of every
desire we’ve ever had and line them up perfectly in order to
be happy… eurghhhh! Well, need I say more?!?
Give it up and hand it over to God, first.
Now, once you’ve allowed yourself to truly release your
attachment, THEN you can start visualizing and expanding on
the specifics. For example, you have this big list, right?
Take each item on the list separately and imagine what it
would feel like to experience just that ONE aspect/detail.
What does that ONE detail feel like? How will you know that
detail exists? What is it about that detail that makes it
so glorious? Fantasize and play with each detail as if it
were the ONE thing that you enjoy most in that moment.
Then, add the next detail, and the next, and the next. The
moment you start to feel like “Oopss that last detail was
one too many”, return to your chat with God and back off the
details until you can play again.
The key is to imagine it and live, breathe, and experience
it so fully in your fantasy that you are entirely satisfied
even without it. And, be as specific as you can be without
getting attached to the outcome. The moment you tighten up
and attach, is the moment you turn it back over to the
Divine.
Question: Can you do surrogate EFT on a group of people,
like a company, or a team, or a country, for instance? Or
do you have to tap on them individually?
Yes! This goes for any group of people – a family, company,
organization, country, city, government, a team (sports,
activists, project, co-workers, science fair, etc.) and any
gaggle you can name!
Allow me to be Captain Obvious, as my son would say, and
point out that it’s more difficult to benchmark your impact
when tapping for larger entities such as a country or a
government, for example.
However, do not let the fact that you are not sure if its
‘working’ prevent you from lending your support. When we
feel helpless and insignificant and like nothing we can do
can help such a big, bad situation, that’s exactly when
Surrogate EFT can be the most powerful and influential.
Just because we are small in comparison, does not mean we
are insignificant. By tapping, we are aligning with love
and the Universal energy that creates worlds; by intending
health, wholeness, justice, peace, flexibility, stability,
courage, and enlightenment for an organization/group, we are
holding the space for this possibility.
So, how do you tap for a crowd? The same as you would for
an individual.
For example, a friend recently wrote to me about the crisis
her country, El Salvador is facing:
See the Video of the Proxy / Surrogate EFT Tapping:
Dear Anisa, I would like to ask your advice and your help
in a very sad and frustrating situation that my country is
facing at the moment. I live in El Salvador, Central America
and if you have seen the news you may know that we have a
very serious gang problem. The crime rate in El Salvador is
approximately 49 homicides per day.
On Sunday, a horrible tragedy happened: assailants set fire
to a mass transit bus in San Salvador. Witnesses said people
on motorcycles intercepted the bus, doused it with gasoline
and closed the doors with the passengers inside. 11
passengers were killed and 8 were injured (update 16 have
died). An 18 month-old baby was killed and people could hear
the baby and children screaming. The men who set the bus on
fire, were laughing and shoot people in the legs for them
not to escape the bus. Gang members were involved in the
attacks. The buses were targeted as a reprisal against bus
drivers who had not paid a gang-imposed toll.
Sadly, this is just one example of the many problems we have
in our country, because of gangs (“Mara Salvatrucha” and
“Mara 18″) On Monday a family was murdered in their own home
at 3 AM. Some men knocked at their door claiming someone was
trying to rob their car, when the home owner opened the door
they shot him, entered the house, tortured and killed his
wife and an elder couple living with them. After they killed
everyone they stole their television, computers and other
electronic devices.
At this moment I am scared to death even going out in the
street, we have curfews. Anisa, is there any way that with
LOA we can help improve the security in our country? We
cannot live this way and I love my country I don’t want to
move out.
Please let me know if there is a way I can visualize a more
peaceful El Salvador? How can I help improve the danger in
my country? (June 21, 2010)
A: First, please know that you and your country are in my
prayers. I hold the vision of an immediate return to
wellness, peace, stability, security, and order for El
Salvador. I am grateful for this manifestation, now. So be
it.
You asked what can you do to visualize a more peaceful El
Salvador. And, I will include a prayer for peace but also
encourage you to take time with each report to apply
surrogate EFT. Use the words that your heart and mind feel
and the words/phrases that trigger sadness and pain as you
hear the stories. No matter what you tap on, as long as you
are connected to the situation, you will personally find
more peace. And your peace will hold the space for your
country’s peace.
Surrogate EFT can have a quiet yet profound impact on our
world. Listen to the audio example of Surrogate EFT for El
Salvador.
Sample Set-Up Statements, Sore spot (S) or Karate Chop point

homicide rates in the world, I love and accept myself and my
country.

Q: I applied for a job that is perfect for my skills,
education and experience. I know the boss because he was a
professor of mine and we are friends apart from that. I
visualize the job and I’ve been fasting for cleansing and
easier manifestations too. It’s been six weeks and the job
is still open. I have not attended an interview yet. Any
advise?
A: Although you are ‘doing’ everything ‘right’, it may be
that you are not ‘being’ everything ‘right’. Let me
explain… by first, panning way back for a moment.
Did you know…… each eye of the dragonfly contains 30,000
lenses?
… there are 318,979,564,000 possible combinations of the
first four moves in Chess?
… the human brain has 100,000,000,000 neurons?
*what?*^ Interesting facts, Anisa but what's that have to
do with the price of tea in China? >*!@
I’ll get to that…
There are only a gazillion potential outcomes for each
‘desire’ that we have and while we may believe that we are
‘holding the vision’ of only one, our human minds are seldom
that stable. In fact, did you know that the average person
has 12,000 thoughts per day? And, a deep thinker will have
as many as 55,000 thoughts per day? (*National Science
Foundation study)
Now, even if you are SUPER positive person, thinking “good
thoughts” 80% of the time that still leaves between 2,400
and 11,000 negative or neutral thoughts per day!
Just like the dragon fly with 60,000 lenses on its two eyes,
we may believe we are focused on ONE belief, ‘that which I
desire is already mine’ but in a split-second our focus
shifts and we are focusing on some other possibility.
For example, in this scenario it might be thoughts and fears
firing around those 100 billion neurons such as, “What if I
don’t get this job?” And “But, I really want and deserve
this one!” And, “I can’t believe they haven’t hired anyone
yet.” And, “What’s wrong with me that I haven’t gotten an
interview?” Or worse, “I am destined to be a failure!” Or,
“Nothing ever goes my way!” Or, “I’m worthless and will
never find a job that I love!”
While it’s normal and reasonable, as thinking beings, to
have a full array of ‘what ifs’ floating around our noggins,
if left to fester they can be counter-creative to the
materialization of our goals! I’m not suggesting you can
monitor ALL of your thoughts, you can’t. However, you can
monitor your feelings to determine whether or not you are
‘on target’ with the manifestation of your intention or ‘off
target’. When you feel positive and certain, you are
vibrating in harmony with your goal. When you feel
negative, doubtful, apathetic, skeptical, worried, anxious,
fearful, etc. you are vibrating in harmony with the absence
of your goal. When you feel ‘neutral’ you are leaning
towards the positive manifestation of your goal, so long as
the most dominant previous thought was positive.
Now, the key here to insisting and commanding that your
‘feelings’ stay positively attractive is to choose to become
absolutely certain that ‘This job or something better is
mine now!” You have to both intentionally manifest it and
intentionally take action to get it, while detaching from
“needing this job” over any other one!
We must give up our attachment to something in order to have
it manifest in our lives. If you want more abundance, then
give up your NEED to have it and see how much faster your
abundance begins to flow. If you want a great relationship,
then give up your NEED to have it and see how quickly love
happens. It’s the crazy paradox that we conscious creators
must contend with. However, becoming ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN
that what you wish for is already yours and maintaining that
certainty with the same level of confidence that you have
that your heart is still beating in this moment is the
answer to your question, “what else can I do?”
You must envision it with all your heart and soul. Then,
release it with the knowing that ‘this or something better
is absolutely happening now. Yes! It’s happening now, and
I don’t have to know how.’
If you are a ‘tapper’ (use meridian therapies such as TFT,
EFT, etc.) then you can tap away any and all doubts about
the job. This will allow you to elevate your primary
thoughts/emotions to a positive neutral space of, “all is
well, now and always”. Very supportive for detachment!
Now how about that crazy fact — > there are
318,979,564,000 possible combinations of the first four
moves in Chess?
And that’s a game of chess!?!? Imagine how many
possibilities there are for the perfect manifestation of our
dreams. No matter what you believe you want, let go of the
form and the pathway that you believe is right and instead
focus on the ‘what’ and not the ‘how’. It’s not ONLY this
exact job that is right for you, but the things you believe
this ‘job’ will give to you that you don’t have now or want
more of. Thus, by eliminating any and all negative thoughts
that you are aware of as well as by focusing on the joyful
essence of having either this job or one that brings you
greater fulfillment than this job, you’ll be aligned with
the employed experience you really want!
I hold the vision with you – “You are fantastically happy at
your new job making the best money you’ve ever made and
joyously expectant about the future!”
Q: I was wondering if it is possible to rearrange life events.
For example, if a person has not experienced sexual
intercourse for the first time, can they change their life
so that they could have experienced it in the past and were
not looking forward to it in the future? Can we assume there
is a universe in which that particular event did take place
in the past-could you switch to that universe? What about
events with lasting effects? For example, if you haven’t had
a child yet, can you change your life so that you have a two
year old? I don’t mean like manifesting the opportunity to
adopt a two year old, I mean actually changing to a reality
where they gave birth two years ago. Is this type of
changing the past possible? (K.T.)
I personally do not know whether we can re-create our
literal past because I do not know how we would ‘validate’
it. I mean, if we change the past then we would be living a
different present and we would not remember the previous
past only the new past.
On the other hand, one of the most powerful ‘manifesting’
techniques I know is to go back into our past memories and
re-imagine them as if they were everything we would have
wanted them to be. VERY, VERY POWERFUL AND EMPOWERING!
This is an awesome way to make new decisions and move
towards a healthier future. By re-creating our ‘stories’ of
pain, neglect, hurt, abandonment, betrayal, etc. we are
actually creating a new vibration for our future that looks
like a match to ‘healthier, happier, more harmonious living.’
I’ve used this technique to manifest greater abundance, more
harmonious relationships, and just about anything you can
imagine. If I once had a story that said, ‘you didn’t get
this because this event or problem happened in your past’
then I go back and re-create that ‘event’ or ‘challenge’ or
‘mistake’ etc. until I feel lifted by my new past memory.
Then, I find that my future unfolds very differently because
of this new “story”.
(Okay… need an example? One time I re-imagined a conflict
where I was be scammed of about 10K differently. I forgave the
situation then imagined the past was different. Within two
weeks, I had my 10K back and a full apology for the mishap.
I’m convinced I ‘recreated’ the past to be a better match to
what I really intended – abundant, honorable partnerships.)
I have also used a very powerful ‘Quantum Jumping’ technique
brilliantly taught by Burt Goldman. His process (similar to
NLP Time Line work)walks you through the process of visiting
parallel realities, where you are already LIVING the life
you desire. You then ask your ‘doppelganger’ or ‘alternate
reality self’ questions that support you in reshaping your
reality to be a match to this alternate, more joyous, more
abundant reality. I love his series on Quantum Jumping…
they are easy to follow and fun to play with!
Please join us in holding a Restorative Vision for our Gulf
of Mexico…. (Thank you Power Creators, & Toni & Kathy for
your visions which I’ve included below, along with a quick
Spiritual Mind Treatment.)
“I see the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico stopped
immediately. I see a prompt and effective clean-up of the
area underway, protecting the ecosystem and wildlife there.
It is a joy to protect and preserve our natural resources.
Thank you and have a blessed day!” – Toni
“I hold the vision with you that the leak is stopped and the
seas are now returning to their pristine blue colors and the
fish are being healed and the hearts that are affected are
opened to the connection between the sea, earth and sky, and
to us as fellow inhabitants on the Earth. I truly do
support your vision.”Love to you, Kathy
Please join me in prayer… a Spiritual Mind Treatment for
Divine Healing and Restoration in the Gulf of Mexico:
I claim the power of the Divine to be right here where we
are, now. I claim the I AM presence of the
mother/father/God to be in, around, above, below and
throughout my very being. And, as this is the Truth of me
as one with the Divine, it is the Truth of all of humanity
and life and of you. As a Divine Creator one with the
omnipotent, all-providing creator, I am aligned and
intertwined with pure potentiality, wisdom, wholeness,
strength, prosperity, joy, beauty, and harmony.
I claim absolute resolution to the happenings in the Gulf of Mexico
now.
I give thanks that the ‘wake-up’ call meant for humanity to
hear, has resounded loud and clear, moving our hearts and
awakening our souls. We are AWAKE now and need no further
messengers to stir us to aligned, positive, heart-inspired
action, now.
The I AM Presence within me, and within all who yearn for
purposeful living is now activated and super-empowered to
speak the Truth and have it be done. Thus, I claim the
instant and immediate, successful capping of the BP oil
spill, now. I hold no belief in the possibility of doubt,
only the certainty of instantaneous resolution.
I AM certain and grateful that the orbit of negativity that
previously held me in a place of spiraling doubt,
uncertainty, fear, and hopelessness has lost all of its’
magnetic power; like walking upon the moon’s surface, I
claim my Divine Power to relief and freedom from all
negative gravity. I kick the cement shoes of doubt off of
my feet and I fly, free to create; free to choose. My heart
takes flight and refuge in the Divine Truth that we are
unlimited beings, living in an incredible time of empowering
opportunity.
I AM certain that those in charge will be held accountable
to the full recovery and restoration of all regions
disturbed by the spill. I AM certain and blissfully
grateful that they too are deeply committed to the full
clean-up, for however long it takes. Our Gulf, our marsh-
lands, our beaches, our wildlife and sea life, and every
soul impacted will once again experience pristine life and
beauty and in record time.
I ask and give thanks for the immediate removal of any and
all counter motivations, such as financial or egotistical
incentives that might otherwise thwart clear and enlightened
decisions and aligned actions. I invite Truth to permeate
the decision makers’ soul. They align will a higher
calling, one inspired by Grace, Wisdom, and Love and join in
enlightened, aligned action more firmly than ever before.
“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” – Eskimo Proverb
I’m sad today… very sad. A dear friend and my beloved Nanny (grandmother in Texas) both made their transitions into their next lives this weekend.
You may have heard me over the years talk about my Nanny. She’s the one that put red die in pickle juice so that we could drink Witch’s brew at Halloween. She hand embroidered all of my clothes as a child, let me pick the biggest zucchini out of her garden and dress it up as my baby doll, and became fearless with her gardening hoe when a big scary water moccasin tried to eat me at the lake. She took up country and western dancing in her sixties and never missed an opportunity to bake my favorite ‘buttermilk’ pie (even after I stopped eating dairy – I could never turn down her pie!)
She also taught me about standing up for injustice and about forgiveness. When her 2nd husband (my step-grandfather) was brutally shot and murdered, she told the judge, “Please do not sentence them to death. They will pay for their sins, but murdering a murderer only makes us murderers too.” and she told me, “If we are to continue living then we have only one option – to forgive them.”
My dear friend that made her transition was only in my life
for less than a year but her grace, joy, spiritual
connection and fearlessness will impact me for a lifetime.
She had an intense spirit of committed intentionality and I
will admire her for this always.
I want to show up authentically now, more than ever. I’m
not going to ask you to believe what I believe about death.
However, I want to share the ways in which I’m finding peace
just the same. I know that it’s not ‘death’ that I grieve
but my fear that I can no longer see them, hear them, touch
them, and share laughter with them. It’s my fear that my
children and eventually my grandchildren will not know my
nanny’s ever-flowing love as I have. And, I am saddened as
I watch my friend’s family go through their mourning
process.
This is me showing up authentically. I know that there’s
really ‘no such thing as death’ but this doesn’t matter at
this moment. I get to feel sad. I get to cry. I get to
mourn. And, on the other side I also get to find peace with
what is. And, too much pain and suffering would be a
mismatch to my Spiritual Truth because I also know that
there’s no such thing as death, only a transformation of
energy. Energy is what we are all made of and energy cannot
be destroyed; it only transitions from one form to another.
In all religions, this ‘transformation’ is confirmed as we
are taught that ‘all is well in heaven’.
Thus, it makes sense that my dreams over the last few days
have been filled with laughter with my loved ones. But,
there’s a part of me that feels as though I ‘should’ be
sadder; I should be crying more than I am. I ‘should’ make
sure my family knows I’m in pain too so that they feel
supported.
As a student on the path of authentic spirituality, I
understand and find great comfort in the Truth that all is
well all the time. I find great comfort in knowing that
there is always a higher order to life that I’m not supposed
to be ‘aware’ of all the time, but it exists and is
eternally operating perfectly none the less.
I am finding great comfort in the poem by Mary Elizabeth
Frye “Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep”:
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
A friend called me this morning and said it perfectly, “…we
can have all the tools in the world but it doesn’t make it
any easier or any less necessary to cry.”
As I understand that there’s always a Divine Order at work
and I aim to still Be Authentic in the moment, I find joy in
their memories and the Truth that all is well even now. I
am also grateful that I get to celebrate their lives.
“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”- David Harkins
(British Poet and Painter b.1958)
Thank you for the honor of sharing my journey with you.
With great love and appreciation,
Anisa Aven
P.S. I have a prayer request. Please send forth a prayer
for strength, courage, and peace for my friend’s husband,
Jerry and their toddler son, Dash; that they may find peace and comfort, and
that the spiritual opening required for them to feel her
presence and be with her as easily now as when she was in
the flesh be opened and made joyfully available.
Q: I’m having some challenges at work…. power struggles, employers refusing to pay for my travel expenses, technical malfunctions with equipment in the field, missed or poor communication on my part and theirs etc. I had good intentions on providing status updates but then even the phone lines kept disconnecting on us and then I become sick with the flu. Looking at the way everything seems to be going wrong, I’ve become more aware of the fact that I have had a lot of resistance to this project from the beginning. And, I also recognize that I have a belief that I am not ‘good at field work’ due to some past negative experiences. Now, I’m afraid I’m sabotaging this opportunity and they will think I’m unprofessional. I’m not sure what I’m asking but I want to first, get healthy and second make sure I communicate and fulfill my responsibilities next week. Do you have any suggestions?
A: Sometimes the fastest way to overcome resistance is through directly and intentionally applying
REPENTENCE, FORGIVENESS, and GRATITUDE (TRANSMUTATION). Ho’oponopono to the rescue!
I’ve never spoken of Ho’oponopono and I’m by no stretch of the imagination an expert on the history or practice. However, a friend introduced me a few years ago to this Ancient Hawaiian Healing method. I have combined it personally with some quick EFT and find it to be incredibly healing. The basic premise is one of atonement (At-One-ment with the Divine) through the process of personally accepting full responsibility for the situation, sending forth love and compassion, forgiveness (both given and requested) and gratitude.
When used consistently, the technique is not only effective but transformative! In fact, used often and persistently Ho’oponopono can heal not only ALL of our personal limiting beliefs and self-limiting behaviors but can heal our world. Yes, this is a big statement. However, can anyone argue that the energy of love is transformative? As we learn to send forth this evolutionary energy towards not only our personal situation but every defective and dysfunctional social/environmental issue that we now face, the result will be nothing short of global healing. When this happens we will witness the arrival of a more compassionate, loving, honoring, and sustainable world and the Universal Human.
But… back to healing our ‘own stuff’!
There are 4 Ho’oponopono statements:
I love you.
I’m sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
The Practice: Hold the situation in your mind and repeat these statements over and over again.
What?
“What do you mean hold it in my mind? But, how do I hold it in my mind? Which part of the situation do I hold? What does hold it in my mind actually mean? What do I do if my mind wanders? Who am I saying these words to?”
Unfortunately, the perfectionist’s pattern of rejecting something because either it’s too simple, or we are afraid we will get it wrong, don’t fully understand, or because we have a few unanswered questions will prevent some of you from giving this a try.
Not today!!! Allow me to break it down for you into simple bite-sized steps that you can use, now. AND, once you ‘get’ the process, allow yourself to experiment! Cut out some of the steps I define below and just SEE if you can send forth the healing prayer into any situation more effortlessly.
The more you use the healing instant meditation of Ho’oponopono the easier and more effective (and healing) it will become for you.
To spell it out, holding the situation in your mind might look like:
- What’s the situation?
o “Work is very stressful and I’m afraid I’m not good enough. I have made some mistakes in the past and I feel as though I can’t prove myself. I’m afraid I may get fired, reprimanded, or thought of as unprofessional and incompetent.”
- What’s the worst thing this says about me? (Tip: This is the fastest way I know to instantly find our core limiting beliefs.)
o “I’m a loser. I can’t do anything right. I’m lazy, incompetent, and unprofessional. I’m worthless. I don’t deserve a second chance. I don’t deserve success. I’m a failure. I sabotage myself.”
- Hold these thoughts/feelings of the above in your mind and say the words:
o I love you.
o I’m sorry.
o Please forgive me.
o Thank you.
“Hold’ means whatever it means for you. For visual learners, this may be visually seeing yourself in the work situation and having these self-limiting sabotaging thoughts. For auditory learners, this may mean hearing the arguments in your head and for kinesthetic learners you may just feel the situation.
Whatever ‘hold’ means for you, allow this to be perfect for YOU. Then, with solid intention say, “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
The primary intention is to allow yourself to unify with the event, situation, person, place, or thing; to join in such a way as to accept personal responsibility for the creation of this circumstance. When you employ Ho’oponopono, you are allowing yourself to embrace your role in the manifestation of the event and send forth love, remorse, forgiveness and gratitude.
We all play a very important part in the creation of not only our own lives but our thoughts, beliefs, and actions contribute to the global experience. For example, our beliefs that ‘there’s not enough to go around’ actually inspire and contribute to this reality. Our beliefs about ‘evil’, actually go forth and inspire more evil to be perpetrated.
In the YouTube video below, you’ll hear the story of Dr. Hew Len and how he used Ho’oponopono to heal an entire ward of seriously psychotic patients by healing his thoughts about their illness. He would invoke his personal responsibility and the process of self-identity with – “Please forgive me for whatever is going on in me that I perceive this unit the way it is. I would like to make amends.”
Dr. Hew Len would do this process every morning and throughout the day. It took three years the entire unit was transformed as a result of Dr. Hew Len only working on himself. He would say, “I don’t know how this worked” but it certainly did.
Thus, whether you apply Ho’oponopono to your personal experience at work or in a relationship or to a foreign tragedy such as war in Afghanistan or the Palestinian conflict, for example, you are sending forth the energy that creates worlds and transforms dysfunction into love.
When we set free the love in our heart we engage in “Peace beginning with me” and as students of conscious creation, we know that as we find peace, we inspire peace in those around us.
