Greener Consciousness and the Dangers of Plastic Bags

In my article today, “The Conscious Leaders Way to Respond to Global Warming“, I make mention of a few ways that my family is waking up and taking aligned action towards behaving more responsibly and positively.

One thing we’re doing is to phase out how we use plastic bags around here - (it’s not as easy as I would have liked… even the grocery store clerks snicker at me when I bring my own bags in.)

After watching the PowerPoint show titled, “The Dangers of Plastic Bags” (created by Vishal Mody, the Taft High School, Chicago science teacher that has inspired her students to petition Illinois to become a plastic-bag-free state) my kids and I were floored at just how blind and ignorant we’ve been!

1. “I get your e-mails and just read the one on global Warming. It definitely gave me a new perspective on how to respond to the situation. I do get paralyzed and afraid to talk to people about ways that they can save the environment. In reality, I’ve been working in that area now for 18 years. Yet still I seem to hold back on telling people about how changing simple things can help change the planet. Thanks so much for your insights. I’ll want to read it several times before I fully digest it all. I think that the fear will disappear when I shift my thinking to helping to save the planet instead of “what will they think of me”. I’ll pray for courage and reminders that it’s about saving the planet and not about me.

   Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. We’re all in this together and called for a purpose. It’s a joy to see someone taking your point of view. It’s opened new doors for me.

2. “Thank you Anisa for your e-mail. I think it is time for human being to understand that we all live in a globe and the Butterfly Effect would apply to our environment. In a way Global Warming is a global warning! We can not close our eyes to the crime that has been done in Iraq and Afghanistan and expect a peaceful Earth. Even though the human suffering that is happening around the world seems political and mostly considered the casualties of war, the spirit of mother earth can not take our justified actions any longer. In other words, what you take out is what you put into the global spirit.
